The "Search Near Genes:" field lets you search for clusters only near particular genes of interest. If you enter anything here, your search will be limited just to within or near the genes you specify. Enter the names of as many genes as you like, separated by spaces or commas. If any of the gene names you enter are not found in our database, you will get an error message explaining which ones were not found. Gene names are case-sensitive.
The "Gene Distance:" field lets you choose how near to the specified genes you want to look. If you specify "10000" for the gene distance and "zen" as the gene, then the results will show only clusters meeting your other criteria that fall within the "zen" gene or within 10 kb of the transcription start or end for "zen".
You can prefix any gene name with "<" to find clusters only within the given distance upstream of the transcription-start of the gene; or with ">" to find clusters only within the given distance downstream of the transcription-end of the gene. When you use "<" or ">", the results will not include clusters that fall entirely within the named gene.
